Maroc Telecom to take over from Méditel and Inwi with 4G+ from 13 July

  • Date de création: 01 juillet 2015 20:51

(Agence Ecofin) - After Méditel and Inwi, it is the turn of Maroc Telecom subscribers to benefit from 4G technology. The national telecommunications operator announced the launch for 13 July 2015. Though the last operator to offer 4G, Maroc Telecom does not seem daunted by the head start of its competitors. The company is even confident of being able to turn the tide to move to lead position. And to do this, Maroc Telecom says it has a trump card: 4G+.

Indeed, though the 2 minors have started offering 4G, Maroc Telecom is talking about 4G+. A network system faster than 4G with speeds up 225 Mbps. One of the main criteria when consumers choose an Internet service provider is the speed of its connection, Maroc Telecom is sure to satisfy its customers and even win over some more from its competitors.

According to Maroc Telecom, the deployment of its 4G+ is aimed at "covering all the cities, main provincial towns as well as the highways, railways and main roads". Unlike its rivals, Maroc Telecom will not compel its users to change their SIM cards to access the very high speed mobile network, they would only need to get 4G-ready devices.

4G technology, that has long been awaited by Moroccans is now a reality. After a wait of 4 years, things are finally moving. For the country's economy, this is a bright future, since according to Ericsson, GSMA and many other telecom institutions' reports, access to very high speed connections by the public significantly promotes innovation, company dynamism, GDP.
