Côte d’Ivoire: Yedcor International to launch big real estate project in Abidjan
(Agence Ecofin) - The Ivorian group Yedcor International announced, on 8th July, its intention to build un big residential, trading and touristic real estate complex in Abidjan on an area covering 10 hectares.
According to Desnos T. Yed (pictured), CEO for Yedcor group, this project will include 350,000 m2 of constructed area, with two multi-level towers of 40 floors.
Christened Yedcor Valley Center, this complex will also have two hotels, one of them being a 7-star facility (50 suites) and other 5-star (450 rooms), as well as 300 luxury flats and penthouses built to international standards.
50,000 m2 workspace, 200 shops, hypermarkets, a giant aquarium, six cinemas, a museum of civilisations, a dancing water fountain, restaurants and a performance hall of 5000 seats are also expected as part of this project.
“For this Herculean project, during 8 years, I travelled a hundred times to South Africa, Paris and Dubai, to get all the convincing arguments to entertain a visitor throughout the day when he visits Yedcor Valley Center, no matter the age or social standing” expressed Desnos T. Yed during a press conference.
“There was a need for an entertainment centre in Côte d’Ivoire. Therefore, instead of going to Dubai people will come to shop in Abidjan” he added, indicating that the project will generate around 2000 direct jobs.
Construction works are set to begin in March 2016 and be completed in 2018
Desnos T. Yed did not mention the cost of this superproject, only saying that those who uttered the sum of FCfa 500 billion are not far off the mark.
