Mining and Metallurgy engineering School in Gabon

(Agence Ecofin) - Comilog and the Gabonese state will open a School of Mines and Metallurgy, we learn from La Lettre du CIAN.

Geared towards Africa, this engineering School will allow companies and public administrations to recruit engineers and technicians who are immediately operational after graduation.

The 40 ha campus is located in Moanda, in the heart of the mining and metallurgy basin where Comilog and Nouvelle Gabon Mining are established and where other companies are expected to operate. Sixty openings are offered to students starting from September 2016.

The educational program has been developed in partnership with ENS Geology and ENS Chemical Industries of Nancy from where selected professors will give lectures in Gabon. Tailored in-service training will also be offered to companies and organisations enabling them to benefit from the school’s teaching staff and equipment.

The engineering School should provide Gabon and other African countries with the training for youth in future careers in the mining and industrial sectors where curriculums are still lacking in Africa.
