African Biofuel and Renewable Energy Company (ABREC) launches equity crowdfunding platform

(ABREC) - In the pursuit of success in one of its missions entrusted to it by member States and which entails promoting and funding the development of a renewable energies industry in sub-Saharan Africa, the African institution ABREC announces the creation of its own equity crowdfunding platform dedicated to funding projects and SMEs/SMIs operating in sub-Saharan African in the renewable energies and green technologies sector.

The new platform ABREC.FinanceUtile, is the result of a partnership between the institution and Finance Utile, a pioneering French platform in equity crowdfunding. Created in 2010 by Anne Saint Léger, Finance Utile is registered with the Registre unique des Intermédiaires en Assurance, Banque et Finance (ORIAS), is a member of ANACOFI and is controlled by the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF).

With this partnership, ABREC offers a new class of assets to the African diaspora, Africans living on the African continent and private investors wishing to diversify their investment portfolio in Africa and to position themselves in a renewable energies sector which is the new revolution in Africa after that of the telecommunications.

The executive committee of ABREC.FinanceUtile is headed by Mr Thierno Bocar Tall, CEO of ABREC. The investment team is formed by Anne Saint Léger (Investment Director), Mansour Fall (Investment Manager), Philippe Delarue (Investment Manager), Coumba Sylla (Legal Counsel for ABREC) AND Adrien Jélic (Associate Lawyer, Blackstone Firm).

ABREC will present the platform next 22nd July during a press conference which will take place in Lomé, Togo.
